With more than 40 years’ experience, Harry and Debra Spillman, owners of Spillman Photography, are truly masters of their craft. Both are certified as Master Photographers by the Professional Photographers of America. Spillman Photography specializes in infant, family and sports photography, but their main focus is flattering light and simple backgrounds to give their clients the best image possible.
Though Spillman Photography has won many accolades over the years, they are very proud of their Fellowship Degree through the Kentucky Professional Photographers of America, which is a rigorous program based on both service to the organization and mastery of photography elements. Harry and Debra are both retired teachers, which they both agree is one of their strongest assets in family photography.
Harry and Debra have a photography studio on their property, allowing them to control lighting, shoot any time of the year and work with their client’s needs.
“We work by appointment only to allow us to adjust to our client’s schedule,” said Harry Spillman. “We work with what kids can do. Sometimes that may mean their attention span is too short that day and they have to come back later, and we have the ability to do that for our clients.”
Harry and Debra say their favorite thing about photography is the ability to preserve memories.
“One of my favorite quotes is ‘the full value of a photo is only understood years after it’s taken’ because it’s true,” said Harry.
